The program Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme aims to improve the living conditions of older adults through the use of  advanced technologies especially in the areas of telecommunications, information technology, nanotechnology, microsystems, in order to allow elderly and disabled people to live comfortably at home, improving their autonomy, facilitating their daily activities.

The AAL Forum is the annual showcase event for the people involved in the AAL JP’s projects and the AAL community. This year's Forum focuses on the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) seen as an innovative and integrated approach to respond to the socio-economic challenges of an aging population. The organizers are seeking contributions, which may include papers, videos and other information tools on the active and healthy aimed at supporting older people to maintain their independence and quality of life.
